December News
Boy has December been full of fun and wonderful times in Third Grade!
It started Monday morning, December 5th, with a Gregorian Chant with the fourth graders. The children went around the table and sang a chant of something they were thankful for. A beautiful celebration with sparkling cider, grapes, bread and cheeses. Thank you to the parents and Mrs. Williams that helped make it happen.
I was so proud of the children that made the sacrament of First Reconciliation Dec. 5th. I feel so privileged and blessed to be a part of this special time in their lives. All the children came up to me after the service and said how great they felt and how much fun it ended up being. They were scared and nervous at first, but they ended up leaving renewed and wanting to go again!
We had a festive excellent field trip to The Nutcracker last Wednesday. What a beautiful performance and fun holiday time together. The day ended up being nice and sunny so lunch following at Balboa Park was a treat.
During this season of Advent we are preparing for the birth of our Savior by completing lots of Christmas crafts, talking about what the true meaning of Christmas is - giving and the Joy of Christ in our lives. It has been so rewarding and a blessing to me to share this all with your most precious possessions- your son or daughter.
More to come next week! Families with the whole school Tuesday morning, Grandparents Day Christmas performance, All School Mass, Friday morning assembly followed by singing Christmas carols as a school, and then our class book exchange Christmas party Friday at 10:30.
So let us put our hope and joy in the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and remember to stop and give thanks for all of our blessings.
Love and prayers,
Mrs. Miller
